Kaiser Siding & Roofing Donates a Roof Install in Charlotte, NC for a Local Veteran
On Thursday, June 21, Mr. Bradley received a new roof at no cost at his home in Charlotte, North Carolina. He served in the U.S. Army as a helicopter crew chief.
The installation was donated by Kaiser Siding and Roofing, LLC as part of the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project, a nationwide effort in which Owens Corning Platinum Contractors partner with Habitat for Humanity to provide new roofs to veterans in need and their families.
About the Roof Deployment Project
Owens Corning Roofing and its network of independent Platinum Contractors, with support from the Owens Corning Foundation, donate roofing materials and labor to replace shingles on the homes of military veterans and their families across the country.
Participation is limited to Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractors, a certification held by a small percentage of roofing companies nationally. Recipients are identified and approved through local Habitat for Humanity affiliates.
Through a partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte, Mr. Bradley was selected and approved as the recipient for this roof replacement.
Why It Matters
“A new roof can be a huge ticket item for our customers, so we understand the importance of giving them peace of mind by providing them with the best work in the business,” said Scott and Michael Kaiser, co-owners of Kaiser Siding and Roofing.
Laura Belcher, President and CEO at Habitat for Humanity of Charlotte, pointed to Mr. Bradley’s continued service after the Army.
“Mr. Bradley not only served in the Army but continues to make an effort to give back to his local community,” Belcher said. “This is why we do this, to give back to people who are more than deserving, but otherwise wouldn’t have the means.”
A full roof replacement is one of the largest single expenses a homeowner faces, and for many families it arrives at the worst possible time. Removing that cost entirely is the point of the program.
